Function of Ball Valve

This valve has a ball shaped disc which has an opening point in its centre. When the valve is opened, the opening point aligns with the end of the valve and thus the fluid is allowed to flow. When the valve shuts off, the opening misaligns with the end of the valve and the flow of fluid is blocked. And thereby the valves shut-off and open the passage of the flow of fluids.
